My good friend/fellow illustrator Shannon May requested a Sailor Moon portrait gif based off of my self portrait edit, and I couldn't help but oblige!

Did a new self portrait since I just got a haircut! For fun I took it and gave it a little Sailor Moon inspired editing. Figured it was a good opportunity to teach myself new things to do with gifs!

Sailor Moon Art Zine Kickstarter.

So you probably remember this piece I made for the Sailor Moon art zine "Moon Power" in October! Well, the Kickstarter to produce the zine was launched this past Saturday (March 16th) and managed to surpass its goal of $5,000 in less than 24 hours! If you can, please help support the production of this awesome illustration collection! You can check out the campaign and the pledge rates/rewards here! 

The Kickstarter has been paused due to an intellectual property dispute. I will update this post with any news regarding any change in status.

Unfortunately, the Moon Power Kickstarter had to be cancelled due to an intellectual property dispute. You can still help support the production of the zine by buying a sticker set/digital zine/pre-ordering, or you can donate- see the blog for a Paypal link!

More bad news- the online donations/orders/pre-orders had to be shut down as well. The printed zine will still debut at TCAF on May 11th-12th, but I am not sure how any further distribution past that will be allowed. I will continue to update this post with any news regarding the zine.

Sailor Moon and her Scouts.

So I finally have a new piece to show you guys! I was given the opportunity to make a piece for the "Moon Power" Sailor Moon zine that should be coming out sometime in the spring! I was allowed to draw whatever I wanted, obviously as long as it was Sailor Moon related, and who better to draw then our titular heroine and her closest friends! I had a really fun time illustrating this- Sailor Moon was a cartoon that I adored as a kid, not just for the fun fantasy of the show itself, but the time and effort it put into accurately referencing mythology/astronomy/astrology! What can I say, I'm a huge sucker for that kind of stuff.

I'll post information about the Kickstarter that will set up to fund the production of the zine when it becomes available- it's a great way to show your support for a group of really talented illustrators that I am honored to have my work together with!
